Hi I'm Kathy Sturr, an artist who has a passion for waterCOLOR, wildlife/habitat gardening, plant-based (Vegan) food, and all things earthy.
My artwork is a fusion of texture and color envisioned in nature — a tangle of leaves, bark of a tree, birds of a feather, scales of insect, flesh of fruit or vegetable — and in objects with history — old fishing lures, rusty boats, worn copper pots. I bring these textures and colors to the surface for the viewer to experience. My artwork connects you to nature and to well worn objects that perhaps spark a lifetime memory.
I am happy to sell an original painting if you inquire. I offer smaller-sized, original paintings in my Etsy store. You may shop this site for prints of all my works on a variety of surfaces. I am also happy to work on commission.
Having been employed as a graphic designer for nearly 20 years in a past life, I know a few things about Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Using this software knowledge in conjunction with watercolor, I have published two children's books in collaboration with a local author. I welcome the opportunity to work with you on your project.
As an artist I know deadlines, detail and dedication. As a master gardener I know soil, native and traditional perennials, and vegetables. As a certified plant-based chef I know nooch, garbanzo beans, and tempeh.
I divide my time between Florida's Nature Coast and the Indian River Lakes in upstate NY. I live with my husband in what I call Paradise North and Paradise South. Both places offer endless inspiration. Paradise North is a 12x12 foot, off the grid cabin nestled in a hemlock grove on a secluded lake property. Paradise South is a 660 square foot cracker shack rooted in Florida's beautiful nature coast.
Thanks for stopping by and please enjoy a free, original, hand drawn coloring page!
